  • Team Jackets have arrived! The Barracuda Swim Team ordered jackets for all those swimmers who competed in, or volunteered their time at, the 2010 Yankee Cluster Swimming Championships. Jackets can be picked up at the pool tonight at practice or at the meet tomorrow.
  • Tonight is the deadline to check-in for tomorrow evening's dual meet against the Northwestern CT YMCA Lasers. A volunteer sign-up sheet and concession donation sheet have also been posted.
  • Meet schedule has been updated. Results are posted for last Friday's dual meet against the Southington YMCA Stingrays.
  • A final decision regarding our team's participation in the 2010 Long Course National Championship meet will be made by the end of June.

  • Results for this past Friday's dual meet at the Hamden YMCA have been posted on the Meet Schedule page.
  • Short Course Team Records have been updated through Friday's dual meet. Two new co-ed relay records were established.
  • Deadline to check-in for Friday's home meet is the end of practice on Thursday, June 3rd. Volunteer sign-up sheets have also been posted. On-deck time will be at 4:45 PM, with a 5:00 PM warm-up and a 6:00 PM start.

  • Meet Schedule has been updated. Results from this weekend's OMNI Qualifier have been posted, as have directions to the Hamden YMCA for Friday PM.

  • REMINDER: Deadline to check-in for Friday's dual meet at the Hamden YMCA is the end of practice on Wednesday, May 26th. Check-in sheets are posted by the entrance to the deep end of the pool.

  • The Summer Swim Meet schedule has been updated. Results have been posted for the CDOG Distance Meet from last Friday evening.
  • Long Course Team Records have been updated to reflect times achieved at the OMNI 800 meet and the CDOG distance meet.
  • Meet check-in sheet has been posted on-deck for next Friday's dual meet at the Hamden YMCA. On-Deck time for that meet is 5:15, with a 5:30 warm-up and a 6:00 start. Deadline to check-in is the end of practice on Wednesday, May 26th.
  • The fitness-center orientation, which unfortunately did not happen last evening, will be rescheduled.
  • Swimmers interested in Participating in USA-S competitions for the first time beginning in the Fall should e-mail Coach Ryan (or see him in practice). He will start a mailing list and send out information as soon as it becomes available, and answer any questions that you might have.

  • Tonight is the deadline to sign-up for the Greenknoll YMCA Spring Long Course Invitational. Entries will be submitted to the meet host tomorrow morning.

  • Updated the meet schedule page. Added information on the 2010 Greenknoll YMCA Spring Long Course Invitational, as well as posted results for the April 30th OMNI 800 freestyle meet.
  • Swimmers planning to attend the 2010 Greenknoll Spring Invite should return the team entry form to Coach Ryan by the end of practice on Monday, May 10th.
  • There will be NO practice for Seniors on Friday, May 14th, due to the CDOG May Distance meet.
  • Team Handbooks will be available on deck on Monday.

  • The Barracuda Banquet will be this Sunday at Quassy. Voting for the Barracuda Awards will be held at the Pavillion from 12:00 to 3:00.
  • Meet Schedule page has been updated.
  • Priority registration for ALL RETURNING SWIMMERS remains open this week, and will close at 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 29th. All returning swimmers must register by this time to ensure their spot.
  • New swimmer evaluations will be held on Monday, May 3rd, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Registration for NEW swimmers will also open at 5:00.
  • Reminder: NO PRACTICE FOR SENIORS ON FRIDAY, due to the OMNI 800 Free Meet.

    REMINDER: Practice for returning Senior swimmers begins on April 19, and registration for ALL returning swimmers will be open from April 19 thru April 29. Be sure to check the summer Practice Group Assignments and summer practice schedule to determine when your swimmer begins practice.

  • Updated the Meet Schedule with the April 30 OMNI Distance Meet and the May 22 & 23 OMNI Qualifier for USA-S registered swimmers. All USA meets will be posted over the next few days, as they are submitted to the meet hosts. Be sure to check the meet's status on the schedule page, as there is no guarantee we will be accepted into all meets that we try to enter.

    Kelly Dullard will be representing the Waterbury Y Barracudas at the 2010 YMCA Short Course National Swimming Championships April 7 - 10 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He will be competing in the 100 yard backstroke on the 7th, and will be the first Barracuda to swim in this meet since April of 1993. You can follow the meet via webcam, heat-by-heat results, and possibly a live feed, at www.ymcaswimminganddiving.org and at Swim Network.
